Home and Hospital Visitation

The Clergy and Lay Eucharistic Ministers of St. Paul’s provide spiritual care to members of the congregation who are home-bound or hospitalized.

The Ruthie Ministry offers encouragement and assistance to members of the congregation during times of need; when a baby is born, when illness strikes, when a family member is hospitalized or when a loved one dies.

To request a visit, meal or other service, contact the Parish Office at 745-0307 or secretary@stpaulsbenicia.org.

Baptism

St. Paul’s welcomes all people who wish to be baptized. The sacrament of baptism is the beginning of a new Christ-centered life, which is deepened and strengthened by our membership in the Church.

Baptism requires advance preparation on the part of the priest, parents and sponsors (godparents). If you wish to be baptized or have your child baptized, contact the Parish Office at 745-0307 or secretary@stpaulsbenicia.org.

Wedding

Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant between a couple in the presence of God. In the Episcopal Church it is required that at least one of the parties be a baptized Christian; that the ceremony be attested by at least two witnesses; and that the marriage conform to the laws of the State.

Because the Church believes adequate preparation of heart, mind and spirit are necessary to enduring happiness in marriage; the priest will provide counsel to couples prior to the marriage ceremony.

If you wish to be married at St. Paul’s, contact the Parish Office at 745-0307 or secretary@stpaulsbenicia.org.

Funeral

“I am the Resurrection and I am Life, says the Lord. Whoever has faith in me shall have life, even though he dies.”

Book of Common Prayer

A funeral (when the body is present) or memorial service (when the body is not present) is an opportunity for family and friends of the deceased to gather in faith, seek comfort in their bereavement and celebrate the gift of life.

The Sherman Johnson Memorial Altar in St. Paul’s Church contains sixty-six niches for interment of cremated remains of past and present members of the Parish and their immediate families. Applications for interment of cremated remains in the altar may be submitted prior to or at the time of death.

A Memorial Garden is situated alongside the Rectory for those who wish to remember a loved one with a memorial planting.

In the event of a death, contact the Parish Office at 745-0307 or secretary@stpaulsbenicia.org.
