Vestry Meeting Minutes January 15, 2019   ***NEXT VESTRY MEETING, FEBRUARY 19 , 2019, 7:00 P.M.***   Follow up items:

  1. Please note assignments related to 1/27/19 Annual Meeting:
  2. Tom Mader needs to be asked to set up the sound system. 
  3. Kim, Steve and Beth will assist with table/chair set up for the meeting and potluck.
  4. Anne will take care of paper products.
  5. Del will handle the kitchen and food.
  6. Clean up crew:  Mark, Barbara, Kim, Steve and Ski
  7. Fr. Peter will work with JoAnn on ballots, pencils, and other materials needed for the meeting. 

 

  1. No productive discussion of Party of Parties/Fundraising activities.  The congregation will be asked their thoughts on this topic at the Annual Meeting (Barbara will facilitate), and this will be an agenda item for  the February 2019 vestry meeting.

Annie Pierpoint Mertz (maternity leave), Yann Jouvenot-Sells     Call to Order The January 2019 vestry meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.  Barbara shared an opening meditation.   Vestry Calendar The Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sunday, January 27, 2019 after one service at 10:00 a.m Next regularly scheduled vestry meeting:  Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.   Consent Calendar A motion was made by David, with a 2nd from Mark, to approve:

  1. Vestry Meeting minutes from 12/18/18
  2. Treasurer’s Report for December 2018 (attached)

Motion passed.    Note email from Art from 1/16/19, 1:47 p.m.:  “In my haste to get copies for the Vestry meeting, I inadvertently pulled up the wrong version.  The attached is the correct version of the 2019 budget.”  I have attached a copy of the budget sent from Art.      Reports Interim Rector’s Report (attached)   Deacon’s Report Deacon Beth reported that thanks to the Ministry Fair, she has more people to assist with Healing Prayers during the Sunday services, as well as people willing to help with the Saturday chair/table ministry in Vallejo.  She will attend one of the clergy dinners associated with the Bishop elect walk-abouts.    Senior Warden’s Report (attached)   Junior Warden’s Report – no report   Special Reports/Discussion Items

  1. Preparation for the Annual Meeting

  1. All announcements during the Sunday services should be made using a microphone.  This is to aid those who have hearing differences and need the amplified sound to easily hear the announcements.  No microphone, no announcement.   The vestry host needs to control for this.

  1. A motion was made by Mark, with a 2nd from Kim, to approve JoAnn’s recommendation for the new copier as presented (attached).  Motion passed. 

Thank you to JoAnn for her carefully prepared recommendation.  

  1. Please provide any feedback on the wireless mics to Mark Sally.

 

  1. Ski reported on several things:
  2. The roof leak has been fixed.  It is possible that we might want to evaluate the down spouts and consider redirecting them for better rain draining.  If this is the decision, it should not involve huge monetary output. 
  3. There will be no presentation on the pavers at the Annual Meeting, but progress is being made.

 

  1. Fr. Peter expressed thanks to Kim, Del and Anne for their vestry service. 

 

  1. Party for Art Schipper as he retires from 19 years as church Treasurer on Sunday, January 20th after the 8:45 service.  Thank you, Art, for your dedication and faithful work as Treasurer.
