Upcoming Virtual Listening Session and Survey Dates in August

We are working with local consultant Meghan Freebeck to develop an updated Mission Statement that will reflect our current vision for St. Paul’s, and we want to hear from you as part of the process! As members of our congregation, your insight and participation are imperative toward our future.

As such, we invite you to join us in the following ways:

  1.     Join a Virtual Listening Session on Tuesday, August 16 at 6 pm. Please RSVP to the link sent in a special email on Wednesday so that we can send the Zoom link prior to the event.
  2.     Complete this brief to provide feedback by Wednesday, August 24. All responses will remain private with the consultant and will help us better understand the values and goals of our community.

Thank you for supporting St. Paul’s; we appreciate your input!

The Rev. Annie Mertz, Rector, and St. Paul’s Vestry

About Sunday’s Music: Voices Found

The music in Voices Found: Women in the Church’s Song is written in congregational hymn style and is intended for normal parish use. Some music is arranged for women’s voices and is useful for women’s groups or small choirs of treble voices. The book is a unique compilation of contemporary and historical materials that crosses boundaries of geography, time, and culture as it represents the diversity of the gifts of women and seeks to affirm and expand the spirituality of all women and men as they find new voices in the church’s song.

Next week we will be featuring the music of Dan Schutte.

Volunteers Needed to Host Coffee Hour in the Fall

Please volunteer to host a coffee hour, starting in September.  You can host for both coffee hours (after the 8:45 service and the 11 service, which resume Sept. 11), or just choose one of the coffee hours for that Sunday.  Refreshments do not need to be elaborate or fancy.  Just a little snack or two is fine.   Sign-up sheets are in the Parish Hall, on the refreshment table or on the counter area.  Responsibilities are easy:

  1. Sign up for a coffee hour host
  2. Brink simple snacks.
  3. If hosting after 8:45 am service, stay and clean up the refreshment table and wash all dishes.
  4. If hosting after the 11 am service, stay and clean up the refreshment table and wash all dishes.
  5. The Parish Hall and the kitchen should both be left clean and tidy.
  6. All leftover beverages should be disposed of (not saved in the refrigerator).  They can’t be used by the community meal program.
  7. If there is leftover food that has not been opened it can be tagged and saved in the refrigerator or on the kitchen counter for the “community meal,” but generally all open food should be taken home by you or disposed.

There is a generous supply of paper products available and serving trays/platters at the church; you do not need to buy anything.

Everyone enjoys coffee hour, but the sustainability requires volunteers.  Please be generous with your gifts of time and talent.  Thank you!
