Note to Lay Ministry Leaders
If you are a lay ministry leader and have overlooked the deadline to submit your ministry report, the deadline has been extended to Monday, Jan. 13. You should have received an email with last year’s report for reference. The annual report will be available on Sunday, Jan. 19 for members to preview before the annual meeting after the joint service at 10 am on Sunday, Jan. 26.

St. Paul’s Adopt-a-Poll Volunteers Needed
The Solano County Registrar of Voters has developed an “Adopt-a-Poll” program for teams from organizations to staff election polling places. In the 2018 election, St. Paul’s had a team of 15 poll workers to staff the polling place at Gateway Church on West Military in Benicia. The volunteers worked 5-hour shifts and were paid for their time in training and working; they turned their earnings over to St. Paul’s (about $1,200). What a party of parties it was!
We are ready to do this again for the election on March 3, and we invite anyone interested (no commitments, yet) to an information session on Jan. 14 in St. Paul’s Parish Hall at 6:30. A simple dinner will be provided. Call Mary Goshert/Gene Ekenstam at (707)747-5653 or e-mail to show your interest in attending this information session.

Family Winter Weekend Feb. 14-17
Heads-up, St. Paul’s families! Our Family Winter Extravaganza is scheduled for Presidents’ Day Weekend (Feb. 14-17). We will be staying near Arnold, in the beautiful Sierra Nevada. Snow, hikes, games, food and fellowship will be readily available. Contact me if you are interested at
Contemplative Prayer Service Jan. 17
Join us for a quiet evening of contemplative prayer on Friday, Jan. 17 in the sanctuary. It will begin at 7 p.m. and end with Compline at 7:45 p.m. Contemplative Prayer is offered every on third Friday of each month.

G3 Grocery Bags Will Be Available Jan. 19
The Grateful, Glad & Giving team will distribute bags on Sunday, Jan. 19 for the 5th Sunday food drive (carried over from Dec. 31) for the Benicia Action Council. We are asking for kitchen staples, like sugar, and flour. BAC can also use canned goods such as spaghetti sauce and canned tomatoes. Bags will be collected on Jan. 26 at the joint 10 am service. Thank you so much for your continued support for our families in need.

In Memory of James “Noodles” Powell
We’re sad to inform you of the passing of James Powell on Dec. 14. James attended the 8:45 a.m. service faithfully with his dog, Ali Baba. We will miss his sense of humor and resilience. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
