One Church, One Mission: Ordinary Time

Single 10 AM Church Service

June 5-September 4

A note from Rev. Annie

We mark Ordinary time with the color green at our altar. At St. Paul’s, we will mark this Ordinary time in yet another way: by combining Sunday worship to a single 10 AM service. This coming together for Sunday worship is an opportunity to live into our unity as a congregation. It’s a reminder that we share the same mission, the same hope in the resurrection, and the same heart for our community. And this is an excellent place to begin the work we started when we encountered the “Burning Bush” in the church – the work of articulating our Mission Statement. From there, this energy will roll into our fall stewardship campaign with an emphasis on social events to help us reconnect. My vision for St. Paul’s is that by the time we turn the calendar to Advent, we will know in a NEW way that we are one church, with one mission.

You may be wondering about music. Details have not yet been finalized, but rest assured that no particular style or era is going to dominate our worship. I am working with Glenn to craft a music program that will transcend the labels of “traditional” and “contemporary” and expose us to the depth and breadth of the many musical traditions at our fingertips. Watch your mailboxes this week for a letter with more details.

The Return of St. Paul’s Coffee Hour

Coffee hour is really a time of welcome.  Welcome to good friends having a chance to catch up.  Welcome to newcomers and a chance for us to all meet and become friends. Welcome to our children. Please sign-up on the clipboard in the Parish Hall for a Sunday of your choice, through the summer.  Coffee hour is sustainable only if volunteers sign up.  Please lend your support.

Guidelines for coffee hour planning/set up/clean up:

  1. Please sign up for a Sunday.  You are responsible for remembering what Sunday you signed up for, no reminder is sent.
  2. Bring simple snacks to share.
  3. Coffee will generally be already made.  Check for creamer in the refrigerator in the kitchen.
  4. You are welcome to use any of the paper products from the closet in the Parish Hall with the door labeled “Open Supplies.”
  5. Clean up following coffee hour
  • Please tidy up the main table
  • Wash any dishes that were used
  • Pack up any viable leftovers and mark them for “Community Meal,” and leave them on the counter or refrigerator in the kitchen
  • Take out the garbage
  • As you exit the Parish Hall, please close all doors and turn off lights
