St. Paul’s Is Going Strong. . .and Your Pledge Makes Us Stronger

Your pledge helps the Rector and Vestry set a vision for the coming year — it’s why we say, “Your pledge funds the 2021 vision.”

It has been a challenging year for everyone, and we know the future is uncertain. Yet with God’s help we move forward full of faith, hope, and love. Thank you for dreaming with us by making a pledge.

Members who subscribed to our weekly email announcements will receive a digital pledge card. Other will be mailed a paper copy. Please complete your pledge card by Sunday, Nov. 29.

If you have questions, contact JoAnn in the church office at admin@stpaulsbenicia.org or (707) 745-0307.

Diocesan Sacred Ground Circle

For those who weren’t able to sign up for the St. Paul’s Sacred Ground series, the Diocesan Commission for Intercultural Ministry is forming a Sacred Ground Dialogue Circle that will begin meeting on Dec. 1, 2020. Sacred Ground is a 10-session study of the history of race in the United States, and the relationship between anti-racism work and faith.

This course is a transformative opportunity to learn more about the history of various racial groups in our country, to reflect upon your own relationship to race, and to prayerfully consider God’s call to you to continue learning, acting, and reflecting in the future.

Request for Christmas Card Donations

Greetings St. Paul’s Family! In these times of physical distancing it is more important than ever to find ways to stay connected! One way I do with family and friends is by sending out holiday season cards. I always have many leftover, so I’ve been making small bundles of 5 cards each to give out with stamps at an upcoming Community Meal. If you have any extra cards or postage stamps you’d like to offer, please let me know by Dec. 4. I can come pick them up or you could drop them off at my home. Please contact me, Blanche Hilman. Thank you so much for the support!

Stock Our Stand

The free food stand we’re hosting with Food is Free Solano is a popular spot for people in our community who need food. You can help us keep it stocked through the holidays by bringing any excess produce from your garden or an extra can or two of food. Fresh fruits and veggies go especially fast, along with shelf-stable proteins like peanut butter, canned tuna, and canned chicken. It’s an easy, zero-contact way to help our neighbors in need.

Community Meal Needs Your Help

We are continuing to serve meals twice a week—on Mondays and Wednesdays—for a total of 300 meals to go.  We also receive 90 boxes of dairy, meat, and fruit per week that we distribute to guests of the Community Meal. In addition, we provide single bottles of water. If you could please pick up a case of water when shopping and deliver it to the parish hall, that would really help.

We could use more plastic bags, too!  You can leave them on the bench closest to the parish hall door (near the rectory). Also, we’ll be serving our guests a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings on Wednesday, Nov. 25 and would appreciate donations of pies.  Please drop them off at the parish hall that Wednesday before 4 pm.  Thank you for helping us serve our community!
