Call to Order: The January 21, 2020 Vestry meeting was called to order at 6:35 pm by  The Rev. Annie Mertz.

 

Present: Beth Gaines, Deacon Heather Healy, Barbara Jewell, Charlie Kilbourne, Del Baker-Medlock (Treasurer), Yann Jouvenot Sells, Ken Nowinski,  Rev. Annie Pierpoint Mertz (Rector), Bill Smiglewski, David White, Betsy Zampa (Clerk), Giovanna Zampa (Youth advisor)

 

Absent: Kim Rodekohr, Mark Sally

 

Barbara led a meditation which in which we reflected on the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.

 

Consent Calendar

Approval of December Vestry Minutes – a motion was made by Yann and seconded by Barbara

to approve the minutes of the December Vestry meeting –  passed unanimously.

 

Approval of November Treasurer’s Report –  a motion was made by Dave and seconded by Barbara to approve the November Treasurer’s report – passed unanimously.

 

Approval of December Treasurer’s Report – the December Treasurer’s report was previously approved at the Budget meeting which was held ____________

 

Approval of Grace’s travel reimbursement –  (see attached) Seminarian Grace submitted a request for funds for  travel expenses related to her field education placement.  These funds are to come out of the JL Breck Fund.  Dave made a motion to approve the request and Yann seconded – passed unanimously.

 

Special Reports/Discussion Items

Rector’s Report – (see attached)  We are going to let the Ministry Scheduler Pro  (MSP) system go at the end of March. It was not a good fit for our congregation.

It is necessary to reschedule/re-vision vestry retreat which we’d talked about previously. We will discuss  a new date at our next Vestry meeting in February where we can discuss it with the newly installed vestry members.

Annual Meeting – discussed the organization of the annual meeting.  Ski volunteered to contact Judy Furlong to ask about coordinating the potluck. 

The Vestry reviewed the agenda for the annual meeting and discussed duty assignments.

 

The vestry began writing thank you notes to the folks who’d pledged for 2020.

 

Dave White called for adjournment at 7:30 pm.  Yann seconded the motion – passed unanimously.
