Call to Order: The August 18, 2020 Vestry meeting was called to order at 7:03 pm by the Rev. Annie Mertz.

 

Present: Jorge Castaneda, Cathy Cellini, Heather Healy, Charlie Kilbourne, Helen Kennedy- Lazar, Yann Jouvenot Sells (Senior Warden), Rev. Annie Pierpoint Mertz (Rector), Kim Rodekohr (Junior Warden), Art Schipper (Acting Treasurer), David White, Betsy Zampa (Clerk).

 

Absent:  Ken Nowinski, Giovanna Zampa

 

The Rev. Annie Pierpoint Mertz  led the vestry in prayer.

 

 

Consent Calendar

Approval of July Vestry Minutes – a motion was made by Dave White and seconded by Helen Kennedy-Lazar to approve the July Vestry Minutes.  Passed unanimously.

Approval of July Treasurer’s report – a motion was made by Kim Rodekohr and seconded by Dave White to approve the July Treasurer’s Report.  Passed unanimously.

Reports

Junior Warden

 

The project planned to have the SSP campers paint the inside of the Rectory will be put off until later due to concerns some parents had about the young people being together indoors. (Corona Virus spread)

 

The final inspection of the Bay Alarm fire and burglar alarm system will take place on Thursday.

 

Trees hanging over the rectory have been trimmed.

 

The air conditioner that services the rectory needs to be serviced or replaced.

 

Donna Marshall and Kim Rodekohr cleaned and reorganized the kitchen. Kim will follow up on sending Donna Marshall a thank-you letter from the Vestry for her good work on coordination of the Community Meal.

 

The latest water bill was extremely high.  Art and Kim will investigate.

Senior Warden

 

A committee is working on organizing movie nights as Party of Parties.  This is pending Diocesan approval.

 

A brain-storm session is needed for other creative Party of Parties ideas.

 

 

Rector

 

In-person worship is going well.

 

Annie continues the collaboration with Food is Free.

 

Recently finished a 10-week course on Racial Reconciliation .

 

Attending a day of Discernment on September 12th with an aspirant.

 

Performing an outdoor wedding on September 19.

 

 

Community Meal Update

The Community Meal is serving 65 – 85 people each night we serve.  (Monday & Wednesday). Catherine and Leo are the point people for the Monday meal.  

 

Rev. Annie made a motion to extend Monday Community Meal indefinitely.  Jorge Castaneda seconded the motion.  Motion passed unanimously.

 

Discussion: Start With Why Video – The Vestry discussed the following video as to how it could relate to crafting a St. Paul’s Mission Statement.

Vestry Meditation Schedule Creation  –

Vestry members were asked  to sign up to lead our opening meditation through 2020

 

The Rev. Annie closed the meeting in prayer. The Vestry meeting ended at 8:00  pm.
