Call to Order: The May 19, 2020 Vestry meeting was called to order at 6:38 pm by the Rev. Annie Mertz.
Present: Cathy Cellini, Heather Healy, Charlie Kilbourne, Helen Kennedy-Lazar, Yann Jouvenot Sells, Rev. Annie Pierpoint Mertz (Rector), Ken Nowinski, Kim Rodekohr, Art Schipper (Acting Treasurer) David White, Betsy Zampa (Clerk), Giovanna Zampa (Youth advisor)
Absent: Jorge Castaneda
The Rev. Annie opened the meeting with a prayer from The Book of Common Prayer.
Consent Calendar
Approval of April 21, 2020 Vestry Minutes – a motion was made by Kim Rodekohr to approve the April 21, 2020 Vestry minutes. Helen Kennedy-Lazar seconded the motion. Passed unanimously.
Rector’s Report – See attached
Rev. Annie highlighted the fact that Bishop Megan will be visiting us via Zoom on June 14th. A meet and greet with the Vestry will begin around noon. Please mark your calendars.
Junior Warden’s Report – Kim presented a proposal from Bay Alarm to cover our burglar alarm system and fire alarm system needs. After discussion, the vestry asked Kim to get an additional quote from another alarm company and update the vestry mid-month via email.
Worship Discussion
Online worship feedback – people commented on how much they enjoyed seeing new faces (Rev. Mary and Gene Ekenstam) at the Sunday live stream this past Sunday. Most vestry members felt like it was important to have Rev. Annie in the sanctuary for the service.
Re-opening – There was discussion about what re-opening might look like. It will most likely be a hybrid service. (Some folks in person/others on-line)
Honoring Graduates – There is a plan to post the pictures of the graduates and those promoting into middle school and high school in the announcements and online.
COVID Finance Discussion
Cash Flow Analysis
Excel Spreadsheet: St Paul’s Cash Flow (Revised 5-14-20).xls – Due to the Vestry getting the financial information a little late this month, Annie recommended that the Vestry take some time to look the financial reports over in the next week and follow up later in the month via email for approval.
New Treasurer update – Art Schipper has graciously agreed to fill in as Treasurer until a permanent Treasurer is found. A motion was made by Yann Jouvenot Sells to appoint Art Schipper as Interim Treasurer. A second was made by Dave White. Passed unanimously.
Future Fund Raisers – Tabled until next month
A motion was made to adjourn by Cathy Cellini. Helen Kennedy-Lazar seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The May 2020 meeting of St. Paul’s Vestry was adjourned at 7:53 pm.
