Traditional Music Director/Organist (Part Time) – Accepting Applications
 

Salary

$14,000/Year, with additional compensation for weddings and funerals

Time Commitment

Estimated 3-4 hours/week (not including practice time). Sunday mornings and occasional evening meetings and events. During the summer months, the music director will select hymns and play for 7 out of 14 Sundays.

Full Job Description

The traditional music director selects hymns on a weekly basis, plays at our 8:45am traditional worship service on Sunday mornings, and conducts a small choir of singers. They will also coordinate music for 4-5 special services throughout the year.  In addition to Sunday mornings, the music director is expected to attend occasional evening planning meetings. This position is under the direction of the Rector and works alongside our contemporary music director.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent musicianship on organ and piano
  • Ability to direct a small choir (6-8) of amateur singers
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to engage with church members with empathy and compassion while maintaining healthy boundaries in a church setting

Desired Skills

  • Experience as an organist in a church setting
  • Familiarity with Episcopal worship and traditions
*Candidates with excellent musical training who are new to a church or Episcopal context will be considered, provided they are willing to undergo a period of study with the Rector.

Communications Coordinator (Part Time) – Accepting Applications

$25/hour

Time Commitment

Estimated 5 hours/week, with additional hours during busy seasons and when other staff are on vacation. Opportunity for further employment after 6 months. The communications coordinator may work remotely but must be on-site for a weekly check-in on Tuesday mornings.

Full Job Description

The communications coordinator is responsible for digital media at St. Paul’s. This includes weekly maintenance and refreshing of our website, Facebook page, and Instagram account. The director will also coordinate a small group of volunteers who run our Sunday morning worship live stream.

Occasionally, the coordinator will fill in for the parish administrator to edit, update, and print weekly worship programs. These additional hours will be compensated at the same rate.

Job Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Publisher
  • Experience with graphic design template programs, such as Canva or Adobe Express
  • Ability to update and maintain websites
  • Good organization and clear communication
  • Ability to engage church members with empathy and compassion while maintaining healthy boundaries in digital and church settings

Desired Skills

  • Experience with podcasting and sound editing
  • Experience with video production and editing
