Readings for the Second Sunday of Advent

Mask Requirements

In response to the increasing spread of the COVID-19 delta variant, masks will be required in all indoor settings at St. Paul’s regardless of vaccine status.

Christmas Snow Village On Display

Share the holiday spirit with your family and friends at the festive snow village display at St. Paul’s Church. There will also be a storytime corner with Christmas stories for children, and light refreshments will be served. The free event is open to the public on the first three weekends in December from 4-6 pm.  The display is located in the St. Paul’s Parish Hall at 120 East J St. near the corner of First St.  Masks are required indoors.

‘Tis the Season for the Grateful Glad & Giving Christmas Tree

You can share in the joy of helping local families in need provide for their children at Christmas. The Benicia Community Action Council social services agency, whom we’ve collaborated with for many years, is planning to provide families with gift cards for both Christmas gifts and to buy food for their holiday meal.  We are asking for your support with the purchase of Walmart or Target gift cards in the amount of $25 to whatever you feel comfortable giving. You can drop off your gift card at the Benicia Community Action Council at 480 Military East at Second St. in Benicia.  Please check their hours on their website: http://bencac.com/. You can also bring the gift cards to church on Sundays or drop them off at the Parish Office. Thank you for helping us make this a special year for the kids.

Gift Cards and Pies for Christmas Community Meal

Thank you to everyone who generously donated pies for the Thanksgiving Community Meal— 175 meals were served! On the Monday following Thanksgiving we served 200 meals!  Our Christmas Meal will be served on Dec 22, so we need more pies! Please deliver to the church before 2 pm on Dec. 22. We are still collecting $5 and $10 gift cards to Safeway or Rite Aid ($5 for singles, $10 for couples, and if we receive any $25 gift cards, they will go to families). Thanks to those who have already donated. There will be one giveaway, but it takes a lot to make sure everyone receives one. If you’d prefer to make a monetary donation, we can purchase the cards for you. The cards can be delivered to JoAnn in the church office. Merry Christmas and thank you for helping us feed our neighbors in need.

Winter Cleaning Party

Dec. 11 at 9 am

It’s that time again!  Calling all volunteers for our bi-annual cleaning!  We can use help with polishing pews, cleaning, dusting etc.!  I will have a signup in the church office or call me directly! Morning goodies and pizza after!

Thank you!

Out of the Darkness, Into the Light

As we enter the season of Advent, it is especially appropriate that Bishop Megan has designated the Second Sunday of Advent for the Episcopal Community Services (ECS) annual appeal.

In the gospel reading for today we hear the words of the prophet Isaiah, “Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low.

ECS has supports the work of Christ by ministering to the poor, the sick, the homeless, and the hungry in the their communities. You are invited to help us continue this work by supporting our annual appeal.

Your gift, marked for ECS, may be mailed to: Episcopal Community Services, 350 University Avenue Suite 280, Sacramento, CA 95825.  Or you can contribute online at www.norcalecs.org.
