Peddlers’ Fair Staff Volunteers Needed

The Peddlers’ Fair is looking for volunteers to staff the office. This involves logging in vendor applications, as well as routine office tasks like answering the phone.  Are you comfortable with spreadsheet applications such as Excel or Google Docs?  Consider spending a few hours a week down in the undercroft.  Contact us by email at info@beniciapeddlersfair.org or leave a message at (707) 745-8680.

Morning Prayer Returning to the Side Chapel

As a tentative first step toward our return to indoor and in-person services at St. Paul’s, Morning Prayer will be returning to the side chapel as of Monday, May 17.  We will be following recommended procedures for a safe service.   For those who cannot make it to church, we will continue to ZOOM as well.   Please join us for the Daily Office of Morning Prayer either in-person or by joining the ZOOM Meeting at the usual address printed in the announcements.

Church Office “Reopening” May 17

As many of you know, the church office was kept locked for most of the past year to limit the number of visitors during the pandemic.  Now that more folks have been vaccinated (including your rector and parish administrator), we are comfortable with keeping the door unlocked during our office hours of 9 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday.

Here are the office reopening guidelines:

  • One visitor at a time
  • Wear a mask
  • Keep visit brief
  • Keep a safe distance
  • Use hand sanitizer (optional)
  • Parish Administrator’s office now has a café door, which is kept closed.

Note:  The parish administrator will be off on Mondays this summer, beginning June 7 through Sept. 6.

Bible Study Online – Wednesdays at 11 am

Join us as we dive into next Sunday’s readings while enjoying fellowship, deep conversation, and entertaining tangents. Remember – you can always call into the meeting by phone, no computer required! Check your Friday email from St. Paul’s for secure Zoom log-in information.

Two New Diocesan Sacred Ground Circles Forming

Beginning May 13, 2021

Thursdays, 1-3 pm or 7-8:30 pm

Sacred Ground is a 10-part discussion about race, grounded in faith. Participants are invited to view selected videos and read books and articles about Indigenous, Black, Latino, and Asian/Pacific American histories and how they intersect with European-American accounts. The materials also examine the church’s evolving teachings on race relations. The series is open to all, but it is especially designed to help White people talk about race with other White people. Hosted by Bob Wohlsen, Social Justice Advocate, Santa Rosa, and Sharron Simpson, Spiritual Director and Educator, Santa Rosa, the circles will meet weekly via Zoom. See the Friday online announcements for details to contact the hosts.

Opportunity to Serve on County Civil Grand Jury

Solano County needs you! Each year about this time, the county puts out the call for volunteers to serve on the County Civil Grand Jury. The Civil Grand Jury differs from the Criminal Grand Jury in that it is purely a voluntary endeavor and does not deal in the criminal aspects of our government. The Civil Grand Jury researches and investigates agencies within our city and county governments to ensure that they are performing their mandated functions to the best of their abilities. If the Grand Jury finds there are any shortfalls, it makes recommendations on how the situation can be remedied.      The Civil Grand Jury performs an important function within our community, but it can’t perform that task without you. Jurors serve for one year and the number of hours served per week depends on the task at hand. It is a great opportunity to not only learn more about your community but to perform a much needed service. For more information or to volunteer, contact the Civil Grand Jury Office at (707) 435-2575.
