Getting Ready for Day of the Dead/Dia de Los Muertos
Day of the Dead is a time to remember those who went before us, whose acts have made our lives better. Who do you want to remember?
Here’s a quote from Tyler Johnson: “For all death’s power, the things that always mattered most are the things it cannot take away.” That’s what those who celebrate Dia de los Muertos have always known. In remembrance of those things that matter, we will be installing an Ofrenda outside later this month.
On Oct. 27 we will enjoy a potluck and decorate sugar skulls in the parish hall starting at 6 pm. Our inside Ofrendas will be installed for visiting on Oct. 28, and our Dia de los Muertos Sunday will be on Oct. 29. We hope you will join in the festivities. If you would like to help decorate, call Barbara Jewell (510) 368-5072.
Share Your Celebration With a Flower Dedication
There are lots of Sundays open for the remainder of the year to make a flower dedication in memory or celebration of a person or occasion. Your donation of $60 helps support the Flower Guild, which depends on your generosity to provide the beautiful flower arrangements on Sundays.
